Dichotomy, 2007

The series explores the theme of division and duality between a person’s newly adopted culture and their attachment to their cultural heritage. I am exploring what is revealed and concealed in a person’s identity as they peel away the personifying aspects of their previous culture. Montage and layering processes represent the deconstruction and reconstruction of a previous identity as one journeys through the adaptive process of finding a sense of belonging.
